Jiasong Yuen

A native of Hong Kong, Jiasong was educated in the UK, Canada, and the United States. She has traveled to over 40 countries and lived on three continents, and she joins Motive with a diversity of accomplishments in technology, clinical research, education, and recruiting.
Jiasong launched her career as a software engineer and systems analyst in Dallas, Texas, before moving to Seattle in the booming mid-1990s, where she worked as a developer, a systems integration manager, and a project manager for companies such as Sprint, WRQ, and Microsoft.
After joining a startup that soon fizzled, Jiasong took a dramatic break from the West Coast tech scene and moved to Dharamsala, India, where she taught English and computer skills to students in the Tibetan refugee community. A year later, Jiasong returned to Washington state, working in Bellingham as the Site Manager and Clinical Research Coordinator for a 10-year longitudinal cancer research trial led by the U.S. National Institute of Health.
Most recently, she spent several years in the higher education world, driving international student recruitment and outreach efforts for Western Washington University.
Jiasong has a BS in Computer Science from the University of New Brunswick, an MBA from Texas Christian University, and a Master of Public Health from the University of Washington. She is trilingual in English, Cantonese and Mandarin Chinese, and proficient in French. She enjoys spending time with her family, walking her dog, running, hiking, backpacking, practicing yoga, snowshoeing and international travel.
